The Chapter represents and protects the interests of Classified employees.
It is the mission of CSEA Chapter 586 to represent and protect the interests of the classified employees of the South Orange County Community College District.
Higher pay for staff will attract better employees who will better serve the needs of students. Better working conditions improve staff morale so we can better serve the needs of students.
CSEA Chapter 586 represents the interests of all classified workers by negotiating their contract, and representing them in grievances. They also select people to represent classified staff on campus committees.
Who are the Classified Employees:
Classified employees include: custodians and administrative assistants and data processing staff and admissions clerks and accounting clerks and maintenance workers and grounds workers and computer programmers and mechanics and telephone operators and mailroom clerks and library support staff and laboratory technicians and computer/network technicians and graphic designers and instructional assistants and others all over the campuses who keep the colleges running smoothly.
