Negotiation Announcement 3/16/2008
The CSEA Chapter 157 negotiation team has entered into discussions  with district management to brainstorm ways for the district to save  money. Our goal is to trim excess spending and streamline programs in  order to keep job cuts as far from classified employees as possible.

CSEA Update (March 5, 2009)

Congratulations to Anne Norvell, Registrar at HBHS, who has been elected at our March Chapter meeting to fill the vacant Vice President position until December 31, 2009.

We thank the other candidates who were willing to serve our members in this capacity.

A big thank you also to our Election Committee volunteers Debby Alms (MHS) and Trees Hill (WHS) who assisted with the voting procedures, and to our Audit Committee, Pamela Chylinski (MHS) and Joyce Walder (HBHS), both ASB Bookkeepers, for their work in conducting the annual audit and preparing the audit report.

Regretfully, Korri Rose, Accounting Tech at the DO, our current Treasurer resigned from her position today. We are grateful that Korri was able to serve as long as she did and kept our Chapter's finances in order as evidenced by our clean 2008 audit.

Pursuant to Chapter Constitution Article IV, Section 6b, and Association Policy 6a, the E-board is recommending Dago Hidalgo, Network Technician at Westminster High School, to fill the vacant Treasurer Position and to complete the Treasurer's term until December 31, 2010.

The next Chapter meeting will take place on WEDNESDAY, April 1, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at Westminster High School. At that time nominations will be taken from the floor and we will vote, if other candidates are nominated. If applicable, polls will be open following the recommendation and nominations and will close at 5:45 p.m. Please note the change in meeting date due to the Spring recess schedule.

Subsequently, we plan on having both the new Treasurer and the Vice President take their installation oath.

Voting may also take place for the Alternate Area H Director position, provided that both candidates John Ortiz (HBUHSD) and Ricardo L. Foreman (Rancho Santiago Community College District) will be able to attend and be given the opportunity to address our Chapter members.

It was wonderful to see so many members at the meeting and show an interest in our Chapter's activities and the election process.

A good way to staying informed is by attending our Board of Trustees meetings.
Next meeting is March 10, 2009, 7:30 p.m. The Superintendent will give his recommended reductions to the Board.
