This is a summary of changes in the contract agreement that the members voted to accept on October 14, 2009

TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

Between the

CALIFORNIA SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION

SAN DIEGO CHAPTER 759 and the

SAN DIEGO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

 

July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2012

  Article 3:  UNION RIGHTS

  • Updated member data provided to the Union.
  • The Union may release up to twelve (12) unit members as chapter delegates to attend the annual Union Conference so long as the Conference is held between the last week of July and the third week of August.  In the event that the Conference is not held during these weeks or if more than one (1) unit member is released from the same site or program, the parties will meet sufficiently in advance to adjust the number of unit members released, if necessary.

  Article 7:  WAGES

  • The District or the Union may reopen negotiations for the  2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years
  • Updated Longevity Stipends
  • Deleted Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Differential.  Obsolete.
  • Eliminated a two tier service increments. A unit member in a regular monthly assignment will be granted a one (1) step salary increase on his/her annual anniversary date until the top step for the job class is attained.

  Article 8:  HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • RETURN TO WORK PROGRAM: Provides transitional work assignments for a limited period to assist unit members who are temporarily restricted from performing their regularly assigned job duties due to an industrial or non-industrial injury or illness.

  Article 9:  HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS

  • 2008-2009 The District shall absorb the cost of Health and Welfare Benefits

  Article 11:  TRANSFER AND REASSIGNMENT POLICIES

  • Deleted Section 7: SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION

  Article 12: LEAVE POLICIES

  • Updated Section 5:  VACATION
  • Updated Section 8:g. Updated Family Care Leave (Military Families) to come into compliance with new law.

  Article 13:  PERFORMANCE EVALUATION PROCEDURE

  • New language on Performance Evaluations for “Probationary and Permanent/unit member”.

  Article 18:  LAYOFF AND REEMPLOYMENT

  • Section 9: NOTIFICATION OF REEMPLOYMENT New language Section F. In the event the District cannot meet its legal obligations for providing services to students the Union and the District can negotiate a solution.

  Article 22:  EDUCATION REFORM

  • Deleted this Article

  Article 23:  PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING

  • Added a new Section 3: CALIFORNIA PARAEDUCATOR CONFERENCE: The District will provide up to 15 unit members release time to attend the conference.

  Article 27:  EFFECT OF CONTRACT

  • Up dated language   

  Article 29:  BARGAINING UNIT COMPOSITION

  • Cleaned up and updated bargaining unit composition

  Article 30:  SALARY SCHEDULES

  • Updated salary schedule.
