Governor Brown

Governor signs State Budget

The enacted 2015-16 budget providing a $7.6 billion boost for public education, including additional funding for K-12, county offices of education and community colleges. It also provides slightly more funding for preschool, child care and the California State University System.

During the recession, our public schools lost over $50 billion in funding. We can't afford to go back to that. Support maintaining the tax rate on the wealthiest Californians – not handing them a tax cut that would cost our schools nearly $4 billion annually.
