The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Board of Administration unanimously re-elected former CSEA President Rob Feckner as Board President and Henry Jones as Vice President. Feckner will be serving his 13th term as president, while it will be Jones' third vice presidential term. Feckner is now the longest-serving president in CalPERS history.
"This vote of confidence from my peers is very humbling," Feckner said. "Together we will continue our efforts to ensure a sustainable pension and access to quality health care for our members now and into the future. We have much to be proud of in the way of accomplishments over the past year, but we have much more we need to achieve for California's dedicated public employees."
Feckner represents school members on the CalPERS Board, which he joined in 1999. He currently serves on three Board committees: Governance, Investment, and Pension & Health Benefits.
Feckner has worked for the Napa Valley Unified School District for the past 39 years. He served as CSEA's president from 2005-2009 and is past executive vice president of the California Labor Federation.
The Board President oversees the Board's business, sets meeting schedules and agendas with input from other Board Members and Executive Staff, makes appointments to Board committees, and represents CalPERS to outside parties.
