Have a story about yourself, your chapter or a fellow union brother or sister that you would like to share? Simply fill out the information on this page, and it will be submitted to our Communications Department for possible use in Focus Magazine, on social media or in other publications.
Below are a couple examples of information we are looking for, based on posts we have used on social media and in a video:
Example about a chapter: Me (Anthony Lewis), Maria Jiminez, Kerri DiMichina, Cathy Sigsworth, Erin Whiteleather and Diana Onsurez from Chapter 21 are part of food service staff who are serving an average of 2,700 meals each day during the closure.
Example about a member: I want to highlight a fellow member from Compton Unified Chapter 30, Joyce Franklin-Johnson, for an “Everyday Heroes” video. She is a health assistant at Roosevelt Middle School and works hard to serve students and families by helping children manage their health. She also supports them with community issues that pop up.
Why it’s important
We are proud of the more than 250,000 members we represent and recognize you each have a unique story to tell. CSEA takes pride in highlighting our inspirational members and chapter successes in various publications like Focus magazine, online outlets such as our website and social media, in addition to videos. But we rely on you to uncover these leads, as you are the boots on the ground working with these “Unsung Heroes” every day. Sharing this work not only helps underscore the vital work of our classified employees but even helps local and statewide leaders, including the Governor, make sound, informed decisions that impact members, including the state budget.
