CSEA not only offers over $110,000 per year in scholarships and grants for you and your dependents, but also a free college program for you and your family members to earn an associate degree.

Free College

CSEA members and their family members can earn an Associate Degree with NO out-of-pocket costs. Family members do not need to be living with you or be your financial dependent to be eligible. This program is offered in partnership with Union Plus and Eastern Gateway Community College. The college is fully accredited and credits are transferable.

CSEA Dependent Scholarships

CSEA Dependent Scholarships

CSEA awards $1,000 scholarships to the dependents (including spouses) of its members. There are graduating high school senior, community college, and college/university or vocational school scholarships.

CSEA Member Career Grants

CSEA Member Career Grants

CSEA offers $1,000 grants to members who are going to school on a part- or full-time basis. Grants are awarded to recipients based on financial need, goals and objectives, citizenship, and CSEA activities.

CSEA Member Reimbursement Subsidy Grant

CSEA Member Reimbursement Subsidy Grant

CSEA offers up to $250 subsidies to financially assist members with opportunities that connect them to the union, the community, and/or to students. Examples of the types of programs considered include, but are not limited to, attendance at CSEA’s Paraeducator Conference, CSEA’s Maintenance and Operations Academy, completion of the citizenship process, obtaining a high school diploma, or GED.

Student Loan Reducer Program

Jody Bell Student Loan Reducer Program

CSEA recognizes that student loan debt is a major burden for many Americans, including many CSEA members. To assist members, CSEA offers $500 grants to help pay down this debt. Thank you to SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union for their generous donation each year to help make this program possible.

Union Plus Scholarship Program
The Union Plus Scholarship Program offers scholarships ranging from $500 to $4,000 to recipients based on academic achievement, potential, character, leadership, social awareness, career goals and financial need.
