Our Very Own Rosie the Riveters!

Congratulations Tulare County Office Education Early Education! Our Chapter 899 member leaders banded together to particpate in our Member Unity Program - and it was a huge success!

CSEA’s Membership Unity Program (MUP) helps chapters increase strength and unity by providing training and motivation for chapter activists. MUP trains teams of chapter leaders on how to build the power of their chapters by applying organizing skills to increase member participation in crucial chapter activities.

MUP training subjects include how to:

  • Identify and organize around issues that are important to members;
  • Formulate and write organizing plans;
  • Conduct effective one-on-one and small group communications;
  • Use site mapping as an organizing tool;
  • Increase the positive impact of site reps;
  • Mobilize members and recruit volunteers;
  • Make effective use of communications tools, from phone banks and written campaign materials to social media.

For more information on the Member Unity Program, contact our office at 559/244-5312.

Exeter Chapter 15 Celebrates!

Our Exeter Chapter 15 members had a terrific time at their 2019 Classified Appreciation BBQ.

Celebrations like these are more than a social engagement. These types of events are an opportunity to network with other Chapter members. Through those connections they're  building up their Chapter's strength and unity - while having fun! It's important for our Chapters members to get away from "business as usual" and enjoy some quality "us" time!

Our Exeter Chapter 15 members know how to work hard and play hard - and they deserve it!

Activism in Action!

CSEA members and staff met at the Handord Office of Representative Rudy Salas to discuss independent Charter Schools.

Gloria Huerta (PACE Committee Member), Pablo Peraza (LEG Committee Member), Priscilla Elliott (Labor Relations Representative) and Angie Botelho (Senior Labor Relations Representative) shared our concerns about the continuing expansion of independent Charter Schools and their impact on School Districts and Classified employees.

Our Advocates were able to convey the importance of Assembly Bills 1505, 1506, 1507 and Senate Bill 756 aimed towards empowering local Districts to control Charter School expansion in their area, restoring local accountability, re-establishing the Charter School cap and imposing a five-year Charter School moratorium beginning January 1, 2020.

My Supervisor wants to meet with me, what should I do now?

It's important to remember that the District isn't required to inform you of your right to union representation. It's essential that you, along with all of our Classified Employees, Know Your Rights!

I think I need representation, who should I contact?

You'll need to contact your Labor Relations Representative; we're here to help and ready to answer any questions you might have. You'll find your Labor Relations Representative and contact phone number listed by Employer. Click here to find your LRR!

Can I purchase Member Benefits tickets at the Fresno Office?

Yes! Fresno is lucky to have one of the Member Benefits Service Centers located in our Field Office. You can purchase tickets in the office from 8:30AM-4:30PM. Tickets can be purchased with a major credit card, money order or a personal check from one of our CSEA members up to $150. If you're getting a money order, it's a good idea to call in ahead of time to confirm the price of the tickets since they are subject to change at any time.

You can find more information about the benefits of membership by calling 1-800-439-6626 or visiting the Member Benefits Service Centers webpage located in the same spot you found us - under Offices!
