California Classified Employee of the Year Program

2018 Classified Employees of the Year

Six outstanding classified employees will be honored by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson for their dedication to California’s public school students. All six employees are CSEA members: Chris Flores, Richard Carreon, Donna Silva, Lily Madrigal, Rosemary Batista and Loyjean Estrada.

The California Classified Employee of the Year Program highlights the efforts of classified employees who contribute to a positive school environment, and have gone above and beyond what was expected of them.

The California Department of Education presented this award for the first time in 2008. Award winners serving students from pre-school through grade 12 were chosen from each of the following categories:

  • Child Nutrition
  • Maintenance and Operations
  • Transportation
  • Paraeducator
  • Office and Technical Services
  • Support Services and Security

More information is available online from the California Department of Education. CSEA is proud to be one of the California Classified Employee of the Year Program's co-sponsors.
