Is there someone in your chapter who deserves the recognition many CSEA members should receive? Watch this video and then go here to take the steps to nominate that member. When they are standing on the stage at the CSEA Annual Conference receiving their award, you’ll be proud you did!

CSEA recognizes five (5) exceptional members of the year annually.

Winners are honored guests of the Association at Annual Conference, including a video tribute. The District Superintendent is invited to Conference for presentation of the trophy to be placed on display at the district in the recipient's honor.

It's Scholarship Season!

Dependents Can Apply Online Now! Are your children graduating from high school this year and headed off to college next Fall? Are they already attending college? Check out our scholarships available now for your dependents.

CSEA $1,000 Dependent Scholarships: CSEA offers $1,000 scholarships to dependents (children and/or spouses) of CSEA members. Applications must be submitted online along with all required documentation by March 1st. To get started or for more information go to www.csea.com/scholarships.

Union Plus Scholarships - $500 to $4,000: CSEA members and dependents are also eligible to apply for the Union Plus Scholarship with awards ranging from $500 to $4,000. Members must have at least one year of continuous union membership to apply. The one year membership minimum must be satisfied by May 31, 2020 of the scholarship year. Apply online by January 31, 2020 at www.unionplus.org/scholarships.

Help our Schools and Communities

CSEA urges you to sign the petition to qualify the Schools and Communities First initiative for the November 2020 ballot. By closing tax loopholes on commercial property, this measure would restore $12 billion to California's schools and communities every year.

Governor Newsom releases 2020-21 budget proposal

Building on last year’s major commitments in education, Governor Newsom has proposed making additional investments in overall education funding as well as in several major educational initiatives benefiting classified employees.

Students across the state may soon be able to enjoy more fresh, nutritious food in school meals and food service workers may get access to new professional development opportunities.

District conference honors classified employees

Approximately 600 classified employees in Madera Unified came together for the district’s inaugural Classified Employee Conference, celebrating the theme “It Starts With Us.”

Chapter 500 hosts January’s Board Meeting

More than 700 square miles, 3,700 bargaining members and over 1,000 sites were represented by Los Angeles Chapter 500 who hosted the January 18 away board meeting.

Three groundskeepers from Chapter 551 kept staff and students safe when a stranger wielding a knife attempted to come onto campus.

Chapter 252 fixes salary schedule

Unlike other bargaining units in the district, Chapter 252 members had to work for 30 years in a position to reach the top of their pay scale.

CSEA establishes new Region 88

During CSEA’s October Board Meeting, Region 88 was approved to include five chapters: Gilroy Chapter 69, Gavilan College Chapter 270, San Benito Chapter 173, Hollister Chapter 625 and San Benito COE Chapter 836.
