Welcome to San Diego Paraeducators Chapter 759

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. We are looking forward to our furlough days ending at the end of the school year. Many of us had a difficult time with the pay change but did enjoy the smoothing of 11 pay checks. Hopefully negotiations this spring will go smooth. We know it's been tough at many sites due to lack of staffing, so if you have any concerns please feel free to reach out by calling the Steward line (858) 863-7590 and leaving a message or email chapter759rsvp@gmail.com.

We are in desperate need of chapter activists to help propel us through this tough time. Any where from greeting new faces at our chapter meetings to serving as union stewards protecting our members rights.

In this unappreciative climate, many of the paraeducators are bending backwards to care for the children who are the neediest and often overlooked. The kids are the main reason we have our jobs, so when you are at work doing your job keep the childrens best interest first and personal feelings aside.

Our unity makes us strong with many benefits for members. For example, our chapter was one of the first to include the part-time noon duty employees to be protected under our contract. Furthering our education with financial assistance is another benefit we have through CSEA, along with the partnership with Union Plus and Eastern Gateway Community College. Lastly the protection we have with our retirement plan through CalPERS, our bargaining rights and most importantly health benefits are just a few more of our wins over the years!
