Classified School Employee Week (CSEW) - May 19-25, 2019

Every day, classified employees are building connections and inspiring lives at our schools and community colleges. From transporting and feeding students to teaching them vital skills and ensuring that schools are operating smoothly, classified employees are integral to public education.

From the time students board a school bus to the time they head home at the end of the day, every aspect of their educational experience is impacted by a classified school employee.

California’s Legislature recognizes the important contributions of classified school employees and named the third full week of May “Classified School Employee Week” (CSEW) to honor these contributions.

One of the most important and anticipated traditions observed by CSEA is the celebration of CSEW throughout the state.

Area F and the Rancho Cucamonga Field Office invites you and yours to celebrate CSEW by attending a San Bernardino 66ers baseball game and all-you-can-eat picnic, on Saturday, May 25, 2018.

Please mark your calendars and purchase your tickets early. What a great way to spend some time with your family and your CSEA family, recognizing what you do as a classified employee.

For more information about CSEW including news, events, merchandise, and social media please visit www.csea.com/csew.

Union Steward Training

Union Stewards work closely with elected chapter leaders and CSEA staff to protect employee rights under the negotiated contract and laws that protect our members. Union Stewards are the first line of representation for members. They educate members on their rights and work to ensure respect and fairness in the workplace.

The Union Steward Program provides stewards and interested members with comprehensive training on multiple subjects from educating members about their rights under the contract to legal rights to keeping members involved in the Union.

Please note that Union Steward Training must be taken in sequential order and registration is required. To become a Certified Union Steward, all three levels must be completed within two years.

Union Steward Training sessions will be available for registration online or by contacting the Rancho Cucamonga Field Office at (800) 526-9297, ext. 2980.

We look forward to seeing you all at these most important trainings!
